Sit Down, Ameesha Patel! Internet Roars Against The Gadar 2 Actress For Her Homophobic Remarks
Actor Ameesha Patel has hurled some homophobic remarks which haven't gone down well with the internet and they slammed her.
Ameesha Patel made her Bollywood debut with Rakesh Roshan¡¯s blockbuster Kaho Naa¡ Pyaar Hai alongside Hrithik Roshan. It¡¯s her 23rd year in showbiz but despite some great films in her career graph, Ameesha hasn¡¯t still been able to get herself on the list of successful Indian actresses.
Maybe it's because time and again, she says things which put off people from seeing her as an artist who can be a role model.
She has yet again done the same thing. Ameesha is all set to return to big screens with the second part of her blockbuster franchise Gadar. Despite gaining much love with the trailer, Patel went into public to accuse the film¡¯s director Anil Sharma of mismanagement and other things. Just Ameesha things, you know!
Now, the Race 2 actress has unveiled her homophobic side and said what the world doesn¡¯t want to hear in 2023.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Ameesha was talking about how people crave clean entertainment that OTT platforms fail to offer, according to her. She said, ¡°People are waiting for good, clean cinema. The era where you could make cinema that a grandchild could sit and watch with a grandparent is completely missing. OTT for sure doesn¡¯t give you that.¡±
¡°Because OTT is full of, homosexuality, gay-lesbianism¡ Scenes that you have to cover your kids¡¯ eyes or actually put a child lock on your television so they can¡¯t access those platforms. It¡¯s not something you really want your kids to watch."
Soon after her regressive statements took over the internet, here's how people slammed the actress:-
Don't you dare pop up on my feed with your homophobic a&& get outta here woman!

Bollywood has always been progressive in homosexuality. Statements like this show how homophobic are you? Kids must be taught of gender identity and alternative sexuality. Else when they grow up, they will end up becoming homophobic person like you. #Shame @ameesha_patel

Also speaks a ton as to why her career never took off, it's her thoughts, beliefs and ideas that made her into a "zero category" actor ?. @ameesha_patel HOMOPHOBIC MUCH HUH? Maybe you can now focus more on your acting skills since Gadar 2 is going to be your umpteenth flop? ? https://t.co/KOnzuuyMLM

Ameesha further in her interview called Hindi cinema a synonym for escapist entertainment.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actress said, ¡°Indians couldn¡¯t travel that much, we didn¡¯t have that much fashion. Everything that you wanted was through cinema¡ We didn¡¯t even have an organised music industry. You depended on film music; costumes, fashion, everything came from cinema, and I think people are missing that essence. Gadar, they feel, is an answer to that.¡±
After 22 years, Gadar is returning with its sequel and Sunny Deol returns as the lead alongside Ameesha. Talking about the film, Patel shared that with Gadar 2, the makers have tried to retain the ¡®essence¡¯ of the first part. She said, ¡°It¡¯s got the family values, it¡¯s got the heart-wrenching moments, the great action, the dialogues, the music; everything you expect from Gadar is there.¡±
Gadar 2: The Katha Continues will arrive in theatres on August 11. Written by Shaktimaan Talwar, the film also stars Utkarsh Sharma and Aamir Naik in lead roles.
