'Mai Ro Ro Ke Pagal Ho Gayi': Chandu Champion makes Shabana Azmi and many others emotional
Just like the audience, Shabana Azmi couldn't hold back her tears after watching Murlikant Petkar biopic Chandu Champion. Not only did she praise Kartik Aaryan's performance, she loved Kabir Khan's work in the film too.
After a long time, fans are loving a film so much that they are pleading the audiences to watch it on the big screens in theatres. A Kabir Khan directorial, Chandu Champion, which stars Kartik Aaryan as war veteran Murlikant Petkar who survived nine bullets and made India win its first Paralympic gold, is an experience to watch, say fans. From making you laugh to bringing you to tears, the movie is an emotional rollercoaster that captivates the audience with its powerful storytelling and compelling performances. Not just fans, even actress Shabana Azmi and lyricist Javed Akhtar who watched the film together last night say it's a must-watch for everyone.
Mai ro ro ke pagal ho gayi, says Shabana Azmi after watching Chandu Champion
While interacting with reporters after watching the movie, Shabana Azmi called the film brilliant. "Bohot achchi. Mai toh ro ro ke pagal ho gayi. Aur Kartik Aaryan ka kaam bohot achcha hai. Kabir Khan ka kaam bhi. Maine bohot dino baad Kabir ki movie dekhi. (It was very good. I couldn't stop crying while watching the film. Kartik did a fantastic job, and Kabir Khan did a wonderful job as well. It's been a long time since I've watched any of his films. He kept the story engaging, even in the second half)."
"Such an inspiring story. Inhone bohot bada karz chukaya hai ke itni achchi kahaani aur kahi panno mein kho gayi this aur usko 50 saal baad... abhi unhone khud dekhi film aur vo ro rahe the. (The filmmakers have brought this great story to light after nearly 50 years. Even Murlikant Petkar got teary-eyed upon watching a film about himself)," she said.
Murlikant Petkar got emotional after watching the film
Like Shabana Azmi mentioned, Murlikant Petkar was shown the film before its release at a special screening. As seen in the video, he couldn't hold back his tears.
Even the audiences agree with Azmi, Chandu Champion will you cry, they say!
"There's never been a @kabirkhan film I haven't liked. The best kind of mainstream Hindi film for me is one that I can text my mum right after and say, Go watch it ??. #ChanduChampion makes you laugh, cry and feel. @Sumitaroraa kya likhte ho mere bhai", a user wrote.
