Saisha Shinde Shares Her Struggle As A Transwoman, Says Even Getting An Aadhar Card Was Tough!
Giving a reality check to people who think we have become more accepting and adaptable, Saisha stated that it has been challenging to get the identity as a transwoman in society.
Kangana Ranaut's explosive new reality show Lock Upp made a smashing debut. One contestant who has stood out is celebrity designer Saisha Shinde. In January 2021, Saisha, formerly Swapnil Shinde, came out as a trans woman.
Creme de la creme of Bollywood, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sunny Leone, Bhumi Pednekar, and Shraddha Kapoor, have been her clients.
Saisha is making her reality show debut with the captive reality show Lock Upp.
During her interaction with the media and Kangana, she shared the struggles she had to go through after coming out as a transwoman.
Giving a reality check to people who think we have become more accepting and adaptable, Saisha stated that it has been challenging to get the identity as a transwoman in society.
Saisha reinstated that without an identity, it isn't easy to survive.
She went on to say that even though films are made on transwomen, and there is a conversation about giving them equal rights, things are very different on the ground as a society still doesn¡¯t accept them.
Saisha said that existence is an everyday struggle, whether finding a house or getting her Aadhar card made.
Did you know Saisha Shinde had also designed Harnaaz Sandhu¡¯s winning gown?
It wasn't Shinde's first stint as a designer for a beauty pageant. She has designed outfits for Miss India contestants in the past, but being in the Miss Universe 2021 finals was massive.
In 2015, Saisha also participated in the 14th season of the famous American TV show called Project Runway and was judged by supermodel Heidi Klum, Marie Claire creative director Nina Garcia, and fashion designer Zac Posen. Saisha won the sixth position on the show, which was a massive victory!
Lock Upp episodes will air from Monday to Friday at 10 PM, on ALT Balaji and MX Player.
Kangana will host the weekend episodes. The show marks Kangana¡¯s debut on the OTT platform and host.
