Movie buffs assemble! Catch these 6 blockbusters in theatres at just Rs 99

Looking for something to start your weekend with a bang? Why not watch a movie at your nearest multiplex at just Rs 99? Commemorating National Cinema Day on September 20, this year, the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) announced slashed the ticket prices to the discounted rate. All over the country over 4,000 cinemas including PVR INOX, Cinepolis, Miraj, Movie Time and Delite, are participating in the event. Tickets for this week's as well as last week's movie releases are up for grabs.

Movies you can catch in theatres on National Cinema Day

1. Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Atank

Going strong at the box office ever since its release on August 15th and breaking all records, Stree 2 is a must-watch! If you have been living under a rock all this time, now is the perfect time to catch the horror comedy on the big screen. The movie features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurrana and is the sequel to their hit Stree.

2. The Buckingham Murders

Featuring the talented Kareena Kapoor and marking her debut as a producer, The Buckingham Murders is the gruelling tale of a female cop who recently lost her child in a mass shooting and is now assigned the case of a missing one.

3. Thalapathy is the G.O.A.T

Starring Thalapathy Vijay and Meenakshi Chaudhary in prominent roles, Thalapathy is the G.O.A.T. is a Tamil language action thriller. Released last week, the movie easily joined the Rs 100 crore club in the first few days. The movie tells the story of an elite agent who comes out of his retirement to join his time for an important mission.

4. Yudhra

The movie stars Gully Boy fame Siddhanth Chaturvedi in the titular character along with Malavika Mohanan and Raghav Juyal. The action/thriller is this week's most anticipated big-budget release and takes you along the ride with an ex-prisoner who has been released on the condition of working with a drug lord.

5. Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam

A silly romantic comedy, Kahan Shuru Kahan Khatam is the pick for you if you want to spend your time watching something light and fun-hearted. The movie stars singer Dhvani Bhanushali and Aashim Gulati in lead roles and features a slew of catchy tracks including Ishq De Shot, a refreshing new take on the classic Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh and many more.

6. Transformers One

If you are looking for a family watch where you can take your kids along, Transformers One is an excellent choice. The American science fiction action film is based on Hasbro's Transformers toy line and tells the origin story of the classic characters Optimus Prime and Megatron. Actors Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry and Scarlet Johansson are the voices behind the lead roles and are sure to give you an enthralling experience.
