India¡¯s music maestro who has made the country proud globally for years now, AR Rahman is a living legend. The composer turned 56 recently and the fans of his early years are reminded of the old Rahman. Rahman has evolved with his music so much that his 90s fans majorly miss his old tunes. Here¡¯s an old video of Rahman where he can be seen in a studio brewing love for his music.

As part of a 1995 interview hosted by the iconic TV host Abdul Hamid, Rahman can be seen giving us a glimpse into his world of music.

Abdul starts the video by saying, ¡°It¡¯s the fusion of traditional persuasion instruments and computers.¡± The video shows how the young AR Rahman works with his musicians, mixes the tunes on his device, and keeps working on the tune until he gets what he wants.

The programme created for a reported Pongal slot ends with a special cameo appearance of GV Prakash, who got trained in music under his uncle Rahman since about six years old. From the time this nostalgic video comes, Rahman had already given superhit tracks like Roja, Pudhiya Mugam, Gentleman, Thiruda Thiruda, Duet, Kadhalan, and Bombay to name a few. Rahman who sang superhit love songs for the country ideally fell for a traditional and arranged marriage.

On Simmi Grewal¡¯s talk show, AR Rahman once revealed how his wife Saira came into his life. He said, ¡°To be honest, I didn¡¯t have time to go and search for a bride. I was doing all these films and Rangeela in Bombay so I was so busy in that. But, I knew it was the right time for me to get married. I was 29 and I told my mother. I said, ¡®find me a bride¡¯.¡±

Rahman¡¯s specification of an ideal wife was someone ¡°who won¡¯t give me much trouble so I could carry on doing my music and hope she inspires me.¡± Recalling his first meeting with Saira who he finally married in 1995, Rahman shared that it was ¡°funny¡± because ¡°till then I¡¯d never had the intention, seeing a girl with that kind of look so it was funny. So I asked her whether you¡¯d be interested in marrying me or you have anything else in mind. She said yes.¡±

¡°Initially, she used to get frustrated. I mean not going out. I mean generally, you can¡¯t go out for shopping and¡­¡± he said adding ¡°I did tell her in the beginning what kind of life she is going to lead. This was an agreement before.¡± Rahman and Saira are parents to two daughters Khatija and Raheema.
