Pakistani Singer Threatens To Sue Karan Johar For Illegally Using His Song In 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo'
Dharma Productions released the trailer of Jug Jugg Jeeyo on Sunday, May 22, 2022 and audience loved the comic take on failed marriages in the film starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor, who is making a comeback in Bollywood. While this remains the good side of it, looks like producer Karan Johar might have to spend ample amount of time in court for some serious allegations ahead of the film's release.
According to reports, a Pakistani singer named Abrar Ul Haq has claimed that Karan Johar has used his song Nach Punjaban in upcoming Bollywood movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo without giving him any credit.
"I have not sold my song Nach Punjaban to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at the Pakistani singer tweeted tagging @DharmaMovies and @karanjohar.

Another tweet shared by the singer read, "Song Nach Punjaban has not been licensed to anyone. If someone is claiming it, then produce the agreement. I will be taking legal action. #NachPunjaban". Reportedly, Abrar Ul Haq's song was released in early 2000s and it was a chartbuster in South Asia at the time.
Not just Abrar Ul Haq, another person named Vishal A. Singh, a screenwriter has claimed that the script of Jug Jugg Jeeyo has been copied from his story titled Bunny Rani, whose extract he had e-mailed to Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
"Had registered a story.. #BunnyRani with @swaindiaorg in January 2020. I had officially mailed @DharmaMovies in February 2020 for an opportunity to co-produce with them. I even got a reply from them. And they have taken my story.. and made #JugJuggJeeyo. Not fair @karanjohar", Vishal A. Singh's tweet read.
