After so much outrage and protests, India woke up to the news of the four accused in the gang rape and murder of Hyderabad veterinarian being killed in an encounter early morning on Friday by the state police force.
The accused were arrested on Nov 29 and were being taken to the crime site to recreate the crime scene. They were shot dead when they were reportedly trying to snatch police's weapon and escape. It is said that the police shot them dead around 100 metres from the spot.
This has once again kickstarted a debate on social media. While many are celebrating saying that justice has been served, others are calling it unconstitutional because it was a "mafia-style" justice.
While some are commending the police for this act, others are expressing their angst against it. Were those men innocent? If not, didn't they deserve a legal trial? Will this justice inculcate fear in the criminals' minds? There's a lot that people are saying on Twitter.
