In case you're a Gen Z and haven't watched Wake Up Sid, it's a movie about boy who refuses to grow up and the new girl in the city, directed by Ayan Mukerji - known for the film Brahmastra. The film narrated a refreshing story of two ordinary people yet it was so magical that fourteen years later, it remains etched in our hearts. It marked Mukerji's debut movie before he gave Bollywood another gem of a film called Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.
Fans are excited!
"We need Iktara in the background," said another one.
"It would be nice to see a sequel to Wake up sid 15 years later..Could explore so many topics," another fan commented.
"Even Namit Das and Shikha Talsania on the shoot ..something delicious brewing."
"Omg I wouldn¡¯t mind a Wake Up Sid Part 2!!! I have always mentioned here how I loved Ranbir-Konkona¡¯s chemistry in the movie. So subtle yet real. Eye-lock moments, small gestures, old-school romance uff. KJo, Ranbir, Konkona, Ayan, if you guys frequent this sub, please please please make this happen (without adding any Gen Z elements pls, keep the vibe as is)," wrote another fan.
"Can Konkona direct Ranbir in a film, please? I hope he finds time to work on smaller but impactful stories in between whatever megaprojects he is going to do," said another fan of the movie.
The film also starred Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak, Rahul Khanna and Kashmeera Shah in pivotal roles. Produced by Karan Johar, the film marked Ayan¡¯s directorial debut. Not only was it a massive hit, but Ayan also got the Best Debut Director award for the movie.
