Many feel that Bollywood always shows Hindus in a negative light and is against "Sanatan culture."
Here's what people are saying!
"In ¡®Shamshera¡¯, Sanjay Dutt who plays the villain is shown wearing a ¡®tripund tilak.¡¯ There was no reason to portray the villain with the religious identity of a Hindu. But they did. No matter the story line Bollywood will always find a way to give it an anti-Hindu spin," wrote a Twitter user.
"Why oh why to use h!ndu tilak on a villain????
Will Bollywood never learn??
Say no to movie Shamshera! Say no to insult to h!ndutva!" wrote another one.
"Portraying the "Villains with TILAK and with other Hindu identities " Is a malicious attempt of Bollywood to tarnish Hinduism. The new movie shamshera is yet another attempt by the karachiwood to defame Hinduism let's not let them be successful in it," said another fan.
Another comment read, "Hindu Brahmin Villains" is the new trend used by Urduwood to defame us.
Bollywood is back again to mock & insult Hindus & our faith Hinduism. Sanjay Dutt plays villain's role in an upcoming movie Shamshera.
He is seen flaunting Hindu sacred symbols like Vibhuti, Tilak, Shikha".
"Shamshera a muslim name. Dressed like muslim invader/fakir. Fighting hindu kaafir with tilak on forehead, trikund and chhoti. What more proof do you need of agenda? Bollywood has a record of such stereotypes," said another one.

The story of Shamshera is set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh. This is the story of a man who became a slave, a slave who became a leader and then a legend for his tribe. Sanjay plays Ranbir¡¯s arch-enemy in this huge casting coup and his showdown with Ranbir will be something to watch out for as they will ferociously go after each other with no mercy. Directed by Karan Malhotra, the film has been produced by Aditya Chopra and is set to release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on July 22.
