Comedian Rohan Joshi drew flak for his recent remarks on fellow-comedian Raju Srivastava post his death. Rohan's 'now-deleted' comment went viral after he wrote about the late comedian on a post shared by Atul Khatri.
Stand-up comedian Rohan Joshi took to the comment section and wrote,
"We haven't lost a thing. Whether it was Kamra, whether it was Roast,or any comic in the news, Raju Srivastav took every opportunity he ever got to s**t on newer comics, especially after the new wave of stand-up started. He went on every f***all news channel when he was invited to go s*** on an upcoming arty form and call it offensive just because he couldn't understand it and new stars were rising."
He also added, "He might have told a few good jokes, but he understood nothing about the spirit of comedy or defending someone's right to say something even if you disagree Fuck him, and good riddance."
Rohan deleted the comment after it blew up on Twitter and Instagram, but the damage was done.
Reacting to Rohan's distasteful remarks on Raju Srivastava, actor Sikandar Kher slammed Joshi and wrote,
"There are always people that will not be the ideal way we think they should be. But, that's life, and we as humans and humanity should deal with it for our health and happiness (in my opinion). But, after reading this about someone who's passed away too soon, I am sad to see that a young man who might be funny and witty probably lacks a huge dose of humanity. #unfortunate #disheartening and very very very #uncool."
People on the internet were enraged after seeing Rohan's comment. He was brutally trolled and slammed for a derogatory remark against someone who had just passed away.
After getting brutally trolled, he clarified his statement and wrote,
"Yehi soch Kar delete Kiya kyuki after a minute of anger, I realized today is not about my personal feelings. Sorry if it hurt, and thanks for the perspective."
Comedian Raju Srivastava, who originally belonged to Kanpur, left for Mumbai in 1982.
Srivastava¡¯s health was frail for over a month, and he was kept on a ventilator after he was admitted to the hospital following a heart attack.
