'Shah Rukh Khan Did It Better', Fans On Similarity Between Idris Elba's Beast & Pathaan Poster
As he marked 30 years of his journey in movies yesterday, Shah Rukh Khan treated fans with a poster of his forthcoming movie Pathaan. Turns out, the poster is quite similar to the poster of Idris Elba's beast. While people usually call out of Bollywood for copying from Hollywood movies, this time, SRK's fans are rather taking his side.

Is Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan Poster a copy of Idris Elba's Beast?

While a lot of fans have pointed out the similarity, they still think SRK did it better. Take a look at what fans said.
"It's a pretty common pose TBH, and I don't think it's original for either of these 2 projects. YRF should have been smarter tho, if recently the Beast one has come out before just modify yours so as to avoid such issues," wrote a fan on Reddit.
"Holy cow! It's a really generic poster! Many action movies have the main character in such a pose!" pointed out another fan and added, "There is no single source of copying lol."
Another one said, "no offense but srk looks better"
"SRK did it better," said another fan.
"Jidhar se copy karna ho kare bas ye yellow filter hatwa doh koi. Ps- This Pathaan poster was ready since 2 months atleast. Just extra info from my side," informed another fan.
Another fan wrote, "That pose is a little too generic to say this definitively. Maybe they copied but I wouldn't care."
Production house Yash Raj Films had released the poster yesterday on the occasion of 30 years of Shah Rukh Khan in Bollywood. Director Siddharth Anand said that Shah Rukh Khan's look from 'Pathaan' was the most heavily guarded imagery. "Fans across the world have been frantically demanding for his look to be unveiled for a long, long time now and we couldn't think of a better day to reveal this to his fans and audiences. I hope people and SRK fans love his look from Pathaan".
In the motion poster that dropped Saturday, a gun-flexing SRK looks gritty and raw and ready for a dangerous mission. The look created mass hysteria as soon as it dropped on the internet. About SRK's look in and as Pathaan, Anand said, "He is the alpha man on a mission in this action spectacle that will hopefully set new benchmarks for the action genre in India. When you have Shah Rukh Khan in your film, along with superstars like Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, you have to reach for the stars in every department and I don't think we will disappoint on that promise with Pathaan."
Pathaan is set to release on January 25, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
