The duo who secretly dated in the late 90s ended up creating their relationship, one of the most controversial links in the histories of Indian cinema.

The duo who had a brief yet roaring relationship starred together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali¡¯s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

After spending two years together, Aish reportedly accused Salman of physical harassment and abuse. Ever since then the duo ignored having any conversation about each other. For the unversed, the duo moved on in life and neither ever crossed paths nor worked together in a film. Aishwarya married actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2007 and has a daughter Aradhya with him. Salman who is happily embracing his official single status is time and again rumoured to be linked with someone.

As once quoted by Pinkvilla, Rai talking about Salman¡¯s violent tendencies shared in an interview, ¡°I stood by him enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in its worst phases and in turn, I was at the receiving end of his abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and indignity. That is why like any other self-respecting woman I ended my relationship with him.¡±

Aishwarya once told in a TOI interview that even after breaking up with Salman, the Dabangg actor was not able to come to terms with it.

¡°After we broke up, he would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. I was linked up with everyone, from Abhishek Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened.¡±

On the work front, Aish was last seen in Mani Ratnam¡¯s Ponniyin Selvan 1 and will be seen in the film¡¯s sequel this year. Salman on the other hand was last seen in Antim and with cameos in Pathaan, Godfather and Ved. He will soon be seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tiger 3. He¡¯s currently hosting Bigg Boss 16.
