Amid The Kerala Story Controversy, Makers Drop Claims Of '32000 Girls Converted' From Synopsis
Amid the controversy surrounding The Kerala Story, makers have dropped the claims of 3000 girls being converted from the film.
The controversy around The Kerela Story keeps piling up ever since the trailer of the film has released. Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani. The film has fallen into controversy for its shallow claims that thousands of women from Kerala are being converted to Islam and recruited into ISIS.
Days before the film arrives on 5th May, makers have now dropped the claims of 32000 women being converted to 3 girls.
Soon after a Twitterati dropped this information, several users jumped into the conversation to notify people¡¯s hypocrisy. One user wrote, ¡°First they denied this is propaganda and now they changed the text. What hypocrisy.¡± Another said, ¡°This U-turn shows there is no substance in their claims.¡±
The story of Kerala changes.

Sudipto and Adah are out and about defending their film in the media.
Sen in an interview with ETimes expressed his disappointment and shared, "I never expected Kerala to be such an intolerant state. Kerala is educated and has the highest literacy rate in India. Kerala has a very progressive society. Kerala always leads the country in various human indexes. But, they haven't seen the film. They don¡¯t know what is there in the film. If they're asking for a ban, then there¡¯s nothing more ridiculous than that."
Adah took to Twitter and wrote, ¡°Many seniors persons in high posts have commented on #TheKeralaStory after watching the 2-minute trailer. My parents have always asked me to respect my elders so with due respect to all of them I hope they can take 2 hrs out of their busy schedule and watch the movie. I'm sure they will see that we haven't shown Kerala in any derogatory light. Jai hind.¡±
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, The Kerala Story also received a slam by the Kerala CM.

In a statement, Pinarayi Vijayan said, "The trailer of the Hindi film The Kerala Story, which appears to have been deliberately made with the aim of communal polarisation and to spread hate propaganda against Kerala was released last day. It is indicated from the trailer that this film is trying to spread the propaganda of Sangh Parivar, which has established itself as the centre of religious extremism in the land of secularism, Kerala."
