Satish Kaushik Lost His 2-year-old Son In 1996; Embraced Fatherhood Again At The Age Of 56
Actor-director Satish Kaushik passed away recently but do you know he lost his first child within just 2 years of his birth?
The popular actor-director Satish Kaushik is no more. Satish passed away after suffering a heart attack in the late hours of 8th March 2023. Satish who is married to Shashi Kaushik became a father to his surrogate daughter at the age of 56. But do you know Satish also had his own son who passed away at the age of 2?

Unknown to many, Satish and Shashi became parents to a boy named Shanu Kaushik who unfortunately passed away in 1996.
In a 2015 interview with Economic Times, Satish opened up on his son¡¯s loss while talking about his daughter Vanshika who was born in 2012. Satish who was in his late 50s at that time was asked if it was anyway challenging for him to raise a daughter at that age in life.
To which he responded by saying, ¡°To have a kid at this age makes me feel much younger (laughs). But yes, to have a child so late in life is quite challenging. Vanshika, my daughter, is three now and keeps telling me, `Papa, mere peeche bhago. Papa, mujhe pakdo'. Ab main usko kaise bataon ki I can't run after her now! So I act like I am running after her since I am a good actor. I can't let her down.¡±

¡°She's lovely and has just started going to school. She is the best thing to have happened to me. I have become much more homely now. Pehle main apne mein hi ramta rehta tha. I avoid going to parties now, I have become calmer. I even control my diet and drinking because of her."
Satish then recalled the loss of his son and shared, ¡°I lost my son 20 years back when I was at the peak of my career. I couldn't really get time to even feel that loss. I used to be continuously busy with work and this would make me feel guilty: I didn't even have the time to mourn my son's death.¡±
Satish¡¯s last screen appearance will be in Kangana Ranaut¡¯s Emergency which will be posthumously released later this year.
The Queen actress while mourning his death wrote on Twitter, ¡°Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director #SatishKaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti.¡±
