15 Iconic Bollywood Films You Won¡¯t Believe Were Rejected By These Superstars

Can you imagine Shah Rukh Khan in the role of Bhuvan Latha from Lagaan? Even the ardent fans of the Badshah of Bollywood would feel uncomfortable just by the idea of it.

The reality is that Shah Rukh Khan was offered Lagaan, but apparently he wasn't convinced with the role. Similarly, Chak De India was first offered to Salman Khan, and we're are glad that it didn't turn out that way.

Here's a list of iconic films rejected by superstars, and the reasons why these superstars rejected them!

1. Aamir Khan & Saif Ali Khan - DDLJ

The role of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge's Raj Malhotra that made Shah Rukh Khan a superstar; the film that enjoyed a 20 year run at the iconic Maratha Mandir cinema hall, was first offered to Aamir Khan as well as Saif Ali Khan, but they both rejected for reasons best known to them.

2. Shah Rukh Khan - 3 Idiots

Not only Aamir missed many great films, even SRK did. In an episode of Koffee With Karan, Shah Rukh Khan had called himself the fourth idiot for rejected the movie.

3. Shah Rukh Khan - Lagaan

Not only 3 Idiots, Shah Rukh was also offered the role of Bhuvan Latha in Lagaan. When he rejected it, Ashutosh Gowariker approached Aamir, and rest as they say was history.

4. Shah Rukh Khan - Munna Bhai MBBS

5. Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan- Baazigar

"The original choice of actors was Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn. But they were not happy with their respective parts and wanted to switch. So Shah Rukh wanted to play Karan while Ajay desired to essay Arjun," Rakesh Roshan had revealed.

He then approached Aamir and Salman. Both loved the script but Aamir was busy with other projects. "Meanwhile, Shah Rukh found out that Salman and Aamir have shown interest. This is when he came back to me."

14. Danny Denzongapa - Sholay
