It wasn＊t a conspiracy. The censor board thinks you are not ready to watch a film that talks about women, their freedom and their sexual desires. If you think you are comfortable watching such films, please vote in by heading to theatres on July 21. Let us all give the movie a wide audience reach, and make it a hit, slapping the censor board right in its face and reminding that it＊s high time it needs to change.

2. Because it＊s about sexual desire and not sexual assault!

As Ekta Kapoor said that the movie is about sexual desires and not about sexual assault, as it is being portrayed, we don＊t think there＊s any wrong in it for the audience to watch it.

By what we know roughly, it＊s a story about four women - an 18 year old burkha-clad college girl who finds solace in boys, music, cigarettes and sex 每 a beautician who wants to escape the claustrophobia of her small town 每 a housewife who has three kids but wants to also live an alternative life of a saleswoman 每 and a widow whose sexual desires are reawakening at the age of 55 years, and she finds solace in phone romancing with a young man.

Sexual desire is a human thing, and men alone aren＊t privileged to have it.

3. Because it has won so many international accolades and is winning the hearts of the those who watched it!

While the movie was facing a tough time with the censor board in India, it was winning several accolades internationally.

Apart from premiering at the Mumbai Film Festival, the movie has been screened in 29 other nations. It had a world premiere at the Tokyo Film Festival held in Oct-Nov last year. And even before its official release, it has already won 10 international film festival awards.

So, let us all cheer for girl power!

By now, you almost have a hint on what the movie is based on. It＊s about four women 每 who could be you and me 每 and their fantasies, desires and what life throws at them. It＊s about a woman＊s independence, her zeal to do what her heart wants to. It＊s a reflection of real life, and hence, it's going to be relatable.

6. Because of the exceptional cast and crew talent in one film!

The movie is a Prakash Jha＊s production, the ace filmmaker who is known for his work in movies such as Raajneeti (2010), Aarakshan (2011), Chakravyuh (2012) and Satyagraha (2013). Yes, the same filmmaker who has won National Film Awards for documentaries like Faces After The Storm (1984) and Sonal (2002).

And it has been helmed by a female director Alankrita Shrivastava, who has assisted Prakash Jha for several projects and made her directorial debut with Turning 30.

What＊s more 每 the cast 每 which comprises of exceptional and critically acclaimed actors such as Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, theatre actress Aahana Kumra and also Plabita Borthakur.
