'I Made A Mistake', Abhishek Bachchan Once Told Amitabh Bachchan He Regretted Becoming An Actor

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan often gets compared to his megastar father Amitabh Bachchan, who is still one of the most active veteran stars in the film industry today. Throughout his career, BigB's son Abhishek Bachchan has experienced his fair share of hardships.

Recently, during an interaction with Farhan Akhtar on the talk show 'Oye It¡¯s Friday', the Dasvi actor shared about his struggles and how he had once admitted to his father that he regretted becoming a Bollywood actor in the Hindi film industry.

Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently enjoying the success of his film on OTT, recalled being thrown out of films, which made him question his decision of choosing an acting career.

According to Indian Express, speaking of the time when director Mani Ratnam offered him Yuva, Abhishek said, "My films were not working at the box-office. As an actor I was literally finished, I had no work. I was getting thrown out of films. After two days of shooting, I was told that the film was stalled and then I would get to know that they were shooting with someone else. We start losing confidence because on a weekly basis I was told ¡®aapko acting nahi aati¡¯ (You don¡¯t know acting).¡±

He further reveals how he went on to share his thoughts about his then status in the industry with his dad and actor Amitabh Bachchan. "One night I was thinking about what went wrong, ¡®maine kya galat kiya hai¡¯. I went to dad (Amitabh Bachchan) and told him, ¡®Maine galti kardiya, mujhe actor nai banna chaiye tha (I made a mistake. I shouldn¡¯t have been an actor)¡¯," Abhishek recalled during the interaction with Farhan Akhtar.

The actor, who often becomes the talk of the town for marrying Aishwarya Rai, one of the most beautiful Indian women in the world, added that revealed that his father Amitabh tried to boost his confidence by saying, ¡°Don¡¯t ever talk like this. I have not brought you up to accept defeat."

He said that his father further said, "Keep at it you are improving, I will tell you if you are not doing good."

While the actor is often compared to BigB in terms of acting, his recent portrayal of a politician in Dasvi has won the hearts of many people. Recently, many lauded Abhishek's performance in Dasvi and some even said that he has surpassed Amitabh Bachchan's fame.
