Adil Hussain Defends Radhika Apte, Says Trolling Her For Nude Scene From Parched Is Ridiculous!
Parched, a critically acclaimed movie, revolved around women victims of child marriage, physical abuse, and alcoholic husbands.
The Internet turns into a bizarre place because there are armchair activists & people who want to dig out information from the past so that they can go on a trolling spree.
Last week, actor Radhika Apte started trending for a bizarre reason.
A few old pictures from her movie ¡®Parched¡¯ surfaced online, and #BoycottRadhikaApte started trending in no time. People started objecting to her bold scene in the movie with co-star Adil Hussain.
While Radhika has chosen not to dignify the unnecessary trolling with a response, Parched Actor Adil Hussain defended his film and co-actor Apte and said it was ridiculous to troll her or make a big deal about that particular scene.
Reacting over it, Adil Hussain, while talking to Hindustan Times, called it "absolutely ridiculous."
He was quoted in the report as saying, "I got to know about it a couple of days back when I saw some Google alerts. I think it¡¯s ridiculous to trolls Radhika or make a big deal about that scene. I don¡¯t pay much attention to such things at all. I think the only way to respond to it is that you don¡¯t (respond at all)."
He further added that people still need to learn the difference between art and porn. He added,
¡°There is a difference between art and porn; art is still questioned.¡± Labeling it an issue of "lack of education" among people, he says this is why unnecessary and weird topics begin to trend on Twitter.
Adil Hussain, who essayed the role of Radhika's lover in the scene, had once spoken to ETimes in an interview and disrobed his shooting experience.
He added, ¡°I was almost naked in that scene. I have no issues with such scenes as long as they have not been done to tickle one's lower senses. I have no issues with such scenes as long as they are meant to portray the complexities of human life. We as actors don't shy away from playing brutal murderers, so why should we shy away from enacting a lovemaking scene? What's the logic behind shying away? Aren't we a land of1.3 billion people? And isn't this the land where Kamasutra originated?" ¡®
