A few months ago, Adil Hussain had expressed regret about his involvement in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed movie Kabir Singh. The filmmaker felt offended by this and mocked Adil's extensive history of "art films" in a tweet. Adil now says, in a new interview with Zoom, that he stands by his words and that, even if offered a tremendous sum of money like Rs 200 crore, he would never be involved in a movie like Animal.
Adil Hussain hits back at Sandeep Vanga Reddy
Reacting to Vanga's statement, Adil said: ¡°What do I say to that? I think there are a lot of replies to that comment. If he is more famous than Ang Lee, I don¡¯t know what to say¡ Very unfortunate that he thinks like that. His film did a lot of box office collection so probably he thinks like that. I don¡¯t know the exact figures of Kabir Singh but Life of Pi did over a billion dollars so I don¡¯t think he can compete with that. He should have thought about it before he said it."
Adil said that Animal was not his kind of movie and that he had not seen it. Adil instantly responded when asked if he would have played a part in Animal, saying, ¡°Never. Even if they paid me ? 100-200 crore, I would never do it.¡±
Adil further stated that Sandeep's remark regarding Adil doing "30 art films" should not be taken seriously because it lacks "any substance" and is merely a reaction.
