After Samantha Akkineni, These 11 South Indian Actors Are All Set To Make Their Hindi Debut

What broke the linguistic barrier in Indian cinema? It was perhaps SS Rajamouli's Baahubali that gave regional cinema its due recognition on an international level, and then it was the advent of OTT platforms that made it possible for Hindi-speaking audiences to watch content in other languages with the help of subtitles. Many films are also released in multi-languages.

Several South Indian stars like Samantha Akkineni (Raji from Family Man season 2) and Yash (in KGF) have already made an impact on the Hindi-speaking audience. She enjoys a good fan following in the North as well.

Following her footsteps, here are other South Indian stars all set to make their Hindi debut this year.

1. Vijay Sethupathy

One of the finest actors in the South Indian industry who has worked in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films as an actor, producer, lyricist and dialogue writer, Vijay Sethupathy is all set to make his Bollywood debut with film Mumbaikar which also stars Vikrant Massey, Sanjay Mishra, Ranvir Shorey, Sachin Khedekar, Tanya Maniktala amongst others. The film is a remake of 2017 Lokesh Kanagaraj's Maanagaram.

2. Allu Arjun

Allu Arjun who enjoys a massive fan following down the South and across the nation (thanks to the dubbed versions of his films) is all set to make his debut in the Hindi market with Pushpa, which will have a multilingual release.

3. Vijay Devarakonda

The Arjun Reddy star Vijay Deverakonda has finally agreed to feature in a Hindi film. He will be seen in Liger opposite Ananya Pandey. Deverakonda is playing the role of a boxer in his multi-lingual film being produced by Karan Johar.

4. Rashmika Mandanna

Hailed as National crush, Rashmika Mandanna is one the post popular actress in Tollywood and Kollywood. She is making her Bollywood debut alongside Siddharth Malhotra in Mission Majnu. It is also said that she is a part of Good Boy, starring Amitabh Bachchan. In an Instagram Live session, she spilled the beans on her third Bollywood project. "I am doing two Bollywood films and soon I will be signing the third on," she said.

5. Jr NTR

Jr NTR is all set to make way in the Hindi-speaking market with SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR, which also stars Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan and Ajay Devgn. The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. Wondering what RRR means? It means Raama Roudra Rushitam in Telugu, which roughly translates to Rise Revolt Revenge in English.

6. Shalini Pandey

The actress who became an overnight sensation after the release of Arjun Reddy is all set to be seen alongside Ranveer Singh in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The film's release has been postponed because of the pandemic. Produced by Maneesh Sharma of YRF, the film is directed by Divyang Thakkar.

7. Adivi Sesh

Known for films like Kshanam, Goodachari and Evaru, Adivi Sesh (who played the small role of Bhallaldeva's aka Rana Daggubati's son in Baahubali: The Beginning) will be seen in Major, a film on Mumbai 26/11 hero and NSG commando Sandeep Unnikrishnan. It is a Hindi-Telugu movie.

8. Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas

After gaining massive success in Telugu films, the son of producer Bellamkonda Suresh is all set to venture into Hindi films with the remake of SS Rajamouli's 2005 movie Chhatrapati. The Hindi version of the film, which had Prabhas in the lead role, will be directed by filmmaker VV Vinayak and produced by Jayantilal Gada¡¯s Pen Studios.

9. Jiiva

Known for his Tamil films, Amar Choudary who is popularly known as Jiiva will make his debut with Ranveer Singh-starrer 83. He will be seen as Kris Srikkanth in the biographical sports film based on 1983 World Cup win. Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Deepika Padukone and Sajid Nadiadwala, the film stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev.

10. Pranitha Subhash

The actress who has appeared in Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil films will be seen alongside Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Ammy Virk in Bhuj: The Pride of India.

Apart from that, she was also seen in Shilpa Shetty-starrer Hungama 2.

11. Karthi

Theeran and Kaithi star Karthi is also gearing up for his Bollywood debut with Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, which will also be released in Hindi. The film also features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi and Trisha among others. Ponniyin Selvan is an adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy¡¯s popular Tamil historical novel of the same name, which was published in 1955.
