Mumbai Police had also ruled out the possibility of murder. When the case was transferred to CBI, the agency had consulted a team of doctors at AIIMS to review the forensic report of the late actor.
"Sushant death is a case of suicide. Murder completely ruled out," the doctor was quoted as saying by India Today.
Furthermore, CBI sources have reportedly told NDTV, "So far, no evidence has come up to prove it to be a case of murder. If during the course of investigation, we get any evidence, murder charge will be added. For now, abetment to suicide and other charges in the FIR are being probed."
Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde said that he will await CBI's official report. "Truth cannot be changed, we await the official report of the CBI," he was quoted as saying by CNN-News 18.
Many including Sushant's family and fans have been suspecting it to be a murder. SSR's lawyer had earlier claimed that an AIIMS doctor pointed out that the marks on Sushant's body suggested he died due to strangulation.
"AIIMS doctor told me that Sushant¡¯s death was by strangulation," he had said at a press conference.
Meanwhile, CBI's official report is awaited.
