Not only did he make a donation, he also urged his fans to do the same. But people were instantly reminded of an old interview in which Akki calls out people wasting money on temples.
The video came to light after lyricist and scriptwriter Puneet Sharma shared the clip. In the video, Kumar talks about people wasting food and money on temples when so many people are dying of hunger.
Kumar, who essayed the role of Lord Krishna in the film OMG: Oh My God!, spoke about the need to help the poor and needy instead of donating in temples.

"Why are we wasting so much milk and oil on God? Where is it written that God wants milk, oil and coconuts? At the same time, we say farmers are dying because of hunger. I go to temples and see so much of waste lying around. I believe that the best way to get God's attention is to do good and help other people", he says.
Scam 1992 fame Hansal Mehta also reshared the video.
