Alia Bhatt who made headlines all over the world and was added to the list of best-dressed celebrities on international lists now has her popularity land her on the Blockout List. Well, she is not the only one. The list includes names like Priyanka Chopra, Kim Kardashian, Zendaya and Gal Gadot among others.
What is Blockout 2024?
Blockout 2024 represents a digital protest where individuals on social media are deliberately blocking celebrities, spanning from Hollywood actors to social media influencers, due to their silence regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict or, in certain instances, their alleged endorsement of the conflict. The movement was sparked by Met Gala 2024, held in New York on May 6. This boycott initiative aims to compel these A-list celebrities to utilize their extensive platforms for advocacy, specifically urging for calls for ceasefire.
Celebrities are losing followers because of the Blockout 2024 list
It has been reported that a lot of celebrities are losing followers on various social media platforms because of this movement. Taylor Swift, for instance, lost roughly 3,00,000 followers on TikTok and about 50,000 followers on Instagram over the past week.

On the other hand, several celebrities are being praised for taking a stand for the Israel-Gaza conflict. During this year's Oscars ceremony, numerous celebrities such as Billie Eilish, Finneas O'Connell, and Mahershala Ali arrived on the red carpet adorned with red pins, signaling their support for Artists4Ceasefire.
