'So Disheartening & Disgusting': Alia Bhatt Reacts To Video Of A Woman Mercilessly Thrashing A Dog
Alia Bhatt slammed the video showing a woman/ caretaker/maid brutally beating/thrashing pet dog, a beagle named Bira. She re-shared Sophie Choudry's post expressing shock on the fact that the maid is shockingly still employed.
Alia Bhatt, an avid animal lover, recently took to Instagram to slam the video of a woman mercilessly thrashing a pet dog, a beagle named Bira. Calling the incident of animal cruelty (that took place in Pali Hill, a posh Bandra West locality) as disgusting and disheartening, she urged people to take such videos instantly to the authorities.

For the unversed, the woman who appears to be the dog walker can be seen beating beagle Bira with its leash. She wrote, "Next time you see someone do this to a dog/cat any pet or animal, just take a video and take it straight to the authorities. There has to has to has to be stronger stricter punishment for people thinking they can just take out their frustration and crap onto a pet," Alia wrote.
Alia Bhatt added, "We have become so unbearably inhuman. It's just so disheartening and disgusting! Kudos to you my friend @sophiechoudry for being a responsible citizen and to all those out there doing the same."

Previously, Soha Ali Khan and Sophie Choudry had condemned the incident asking the authorities to take strict action against the group.
Sharing the photo of the woman, actress Sophie Choudry wrote, "Update about the beautiful beagle Bira, who was cruelly beaten by this monster maid. I managed to get in touched with Parth and Shweta, who own the dog. Shweta told Malini Agarwal and me, she had never seen this video and was traumatised."
She added, "Parth told me it was 6-month-old. No idea what the truth is, but they are flying back from Dubai tomorrow (Friday). I confronted the maid in person too, who is shockingly still employed with them. Bira is now with Jehan Canine Centre. Hopefully, they sack this maid tomorrow and take care of Bira."
Beagle Bira has now been rescued
The matter was reported to PPA INDIA's Chief Legal Officer, Advocate Trivankumar Karnani, who took proactive steps and initiating communication with the owner of the animal featured in the video. The owners reportedly residing in Dubai and have fired the woman from her job. The owner claimed that video circulating online is an old video.

Meanwhile, the dog, Beagle Bira, has been rescued and is at Jehan's Canine Centre.
