What Happened To Ameen Sayani?
The legendary radio host reportedly had a heart attack on Tuesday night and was transported to the HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, where he passed away. Rajil Sayani claims to have witnessed this event.
"The doctors at the hospital attended him but couldn't save him and he was declared dead, " Rajil said as per ANI.
He said that the family is waiting for some relatives to arrive in Mumbai today, thus his funeral would be on Thursday.
Ameen Sayani¡¯s Career
Ameen Sayani was born in 1932 into a family that valued language and literature highly. He would help his mother, Kulsum Sayani, with the biweekly publication of "Rahber," a periodical started by Mahatma Gandhi. Simultaneously, it was released in Gujarati, Urdu, and Hindi. Hamid Sayani, a renowned English broadcaster, was his brother. 1951 saw Ameen Sayani start working for Radio Ceylon.
