Hours after he posted a tweet on X (formerly called Twitter), Amitabh Bachchan was hospitalised today. This has caused a panic among fans who are worried about his health condition. The 81-year-old actor was taken to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai.

As per several reports, he has undergone a angioplasty surgery. Furthermore, it is said that he is being "treated for peripheral, and not coronary heart". An insider told News 18, "An angioplasty was performed on a clot in his leg, and not on his heart". More details on his health are awaited.

He tweeted about attending the ISPL match. "T 4950 ¨C Aankh kholke dekh lo, kaan lagake sun lo, Majhi Mumbai ki hogi Jai Jaikaar, yeh baat ab maanlo," he wrote as he shared a video featuring some memorable moments with son Abhishek Bachchan during the match.

Last year in March, Amitabh Bachchan had suffered an injury during the shooting of Project K. He had broken his rib cartilage.

¡°In Hyderabad at shoot for Project K, during an action shot, got injured, rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage. Cancelled shoot, did doctor consult & scan by CT at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home," he posted on his blog.

Amitabh suffered an injury during an action sequence of the film. He, unfortunately, suffered a muscle tear in his right rib cage. "Strapping has been done and rest been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalisation will occur .. some medication is on also for pain .. So all work that was to be done has been suspended and canceled dropped postponed for the moment until healing occurs ..I rest at Jalsa and am mobile a bit for all the essential activities .. but yes in rest and generally lying around ¡­" Big B wrote.

Expressing his anguish the actor added, "It shall be difficult or let me say .. I shall be unable to meet, the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening .. so do not come .. and do inform as much as you can to those that intend coming ¡­All else is well ¡­"

Directed by Nag Ashwin, Project K is a pan-India film which also stars Deepika Padukone and south actor Prabhas in the lead roles.
