Amitabh Bachchan And Akshay Kumar's Effigies Burnt By MP Congress For Being Selective In Criticising Fuel Prices
Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar's effigies were burnt in Madhya Pradesh as congress protested against their selective outrage and criticism against the rise in fuel process when UPA was in power and BJP is in power.
"Guys, I think it's time to clean up your bicycles and hit the road!"
On Feb 25, 2012, Akshay Kumar raised his voice against the skyrocketing prices of fuel. Amitabh Bachchan had also taken a dig at this.

Now when the petrol price is at Rs 105.41 per litre in Delhi and diesel is priced at Rs 96.67 per litre, Congress party members in Madhya Pradesh burnt the effigies of Akshay Kumar as well as Amitabh Bachchan for being selective with their criticism on the rising fuel prices. They highlighted how they criticised the rising fuel prices when UPA was in power but are now mum on the same issue.
There has been 14 increases in fuel prices in 18 days since the ending of a four-and-half-month long hiatus in rate revision on March 22.
BJP has stated that Congress' act to burn the effigies reflects their frustration.

Where have these great people gone.
Don't they have the courage to speak against the dictatorial Modi government. pic.twitter.com/TYHe48gc4N
Congress MLA PC Sharma, who organised the protest, told PTI, "In 2012, these actors used to tweet against fuel price hikes and inflation by writing that vehicles can be purchased but one would need loans to buy petrol, diesel. At that time, an LPG cylinder used to cost Rs 300-400, while petrol and diesel was around Rs 60 per litre."
He added that Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar are silent now that the LPG cylinders cost over Rs 1,000 and petrol-diesel retailing in the Rs 100-120 range. "They have no concern for the common man."
