Dhillon who has been living in Canada for many years now took to Instagram to say he along with his family is safe. "I'm safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Your support means everything (folded hands emoji). Peace and love to all," he wrote.

Soon after the attack, a video has gone viral on social media in which gangster Rohit Godara has claimed the responsibility for the attack. In the video, which Indiatimes couldn't verify, he said, "I, Rohit Godara (Lawrence Bishnoi group), take responsibility for firing in both the places." Firing took place in two locations in Canada on the day - Victoria Island and Woodbridge Toronto. The gangster has claimed that the house on Victoria Island belonged to Dhillon. With Lawrence Bishnoi in jail, gangsters Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara have been running the gang from abroad.

The gang furthermore hinted that the attack happened because of AP Dhillon's collaboration with Salman Khan for his new song Old Money. The post continues, "This is becoming a big issue. Salman Khan is featured in your songs, and you flaunt your actions. The underworld life you emulate is the life we live. Stay in your place, or you will meet a dog's death."

After Sidhu Moose Wala's murder, AP Dhillon had taken to Instagram to reveal the reality of Punjabi singers. He revealed what they have to deal with on a daily basis behind the scenes. "With constant judgement, hate-filled comments, threats and negative energy directed towards people like us, who are just doing what we love to do," he wrote.
