'Guess It's The Nature Of This Business', Arjun Kapoor Believes He's Bit Underrated As An actor
Arjun Kapoor says that he's a bit 'underrated' when it comes to acting.
Actor Arjun Kapoor has been making headlines for speaking his mind lately. Latest reports suggest that the actor has now expressed that he believes he's a bit 'underrated' when it comes to acting. The actor said that his work in Bollywood is not given enough credit while people believe him to be a mainstream hero.
Arjun Kapoor was last seen in Ek Villain Returns, the sequel of the 2014 Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Mohit Suri that didn't do well at the box office. The film, which released on July 29 also stars John Abraham, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani in lead role.
During an interview with the Indian Express, Arjun Kapoor stated, ¡°I feel I am generally a bit underrated and more of an underdog when it comes to performance. People imagine that I am a better mainstream hero. But I guess it is the culture and nature of of this business, where sometimes, because of the lineage you come from, or the kind of expressive nature you have off camera where you¡¯re unabashedly filmy, and I am kind of unapologetically that, so maybe that kind of takes more precedence over your regard for the purity of cinema. But I have both in equal measure.¡±
The actor also went on to say that people discuss the craft on social media despite not having adequate knowledge about it.
"I¡¯ve not heard one person having an actual conversation about craft when it comes to the media or social media about an actor, per se. I feel people who are discussing craft don¡¯t know it themselves. The craft they¡¯ve learnt is clickbait, and it is an easy craft, it means talking negatively about everything."
Recently, Arjun Kapoor got trolled on social media for his remarks related to the ongoing boycott trend in Bollywood.
According to reports, Ki & Ka actor Arjun Kapoor had stated that Bollywood celebrities made a mistake by remaining silent against such boycott trends and that the industry has had enough of it. He went on to mention that people are taking advantage of their decency.
"Arjun Kapoor can speak his mind because nobody watches his films anyways. Maybe if someone had made a boycott call, people would have realised even he too had a movie release. As they say any publicity is good publicity,¡± a user slammed Arjun Kapoor on Twitter soon after his statement went viral on social media.
Arjun Kapoor can say anything and get away with it because no one watches his movies anyway.
