Despite Earning An Emmy Nomination, 'Made In Heaven' Star Arjun Mathur Says Industry Didn't Flood Him With Offers!
Arjun was nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2020 for the Best Performance By An Actor category for Made in Heaven for his portrayal of Karan Mehra.
After an incredible 2019 with hit web series Made in Heaven, life took Arjun Mathur by a pleasant surprise with an Emmy nod. Arjun was nominated at the International Emmy Awards 2020 for the Best Performance By An Actor category for Made in Heaven for his portrayal of Karan Mehra.
Arjun must have lost out on the award, but that in no way deterred his spirit from chasing his goals as an actor.
After sharing a handwritten acceptance speech with his fans, the actor earned praises.
But did Emmy nod for 'Made In Heaven' change Arjun Mathur's life for good?
In a recent interview with Free Press Journal, Arjun bared his heart out. The actor said,
¡°For an actor, who has been struggling here for nearly 12 years, it¡¯s a huge honor. It is like having a validation suddenly which you have been seeking, especially when it has come from an international source. It is highly gratifying for any actor. But funnily, it has not much impact in India."
Talking about the film industry, Mathur added,
"In our industry, people don¡¯t look at how many awards one has while casting for a film. I have finally learnt not to hang myself on this validation from this industry. My validation is very internal now.¡±
Considering how the hit web series Made In heaven catapulted Mathur to fame, his take on stardom is an interesting one. Arjun says,
¡°There are many contradictions within me. I know I have been acting since I was a kid, but I am deeply uncomfortable with the fame beyond a certain level. My private life and ability to go anywhere or do anything in my life are not meant to be constantly talked about just for the sake of it on social media. Life takes you on a path that is meant for you."
When the actor was quizzed about the much-awaited season of 'Made in heaven,' he said,
¡°We are just left with 20 days out of 130 days of shoot and are going to complete it soon. We are racing towards it. I can say that whatever people have loved in season one will be upscaled. It will get more intense."
Apart from Made in Heaven 2, Arjun has a lineup of exciting projects, including Gone Game season 2, director Akarsh Khurana, and a black comedy titled Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, written-directed by an actor Anshuman Jha.
Arjun also added that he likes to root for actors turned directors as he started his journey as an Assitant director. He worked as an assistant director in mega-budget projects like Rang De Basanti and Bunty Aur Babli.
