Arms Case: Salman Khan Acquitted In Blackbuck Poaching By Jodhpur Court

Salman Khan has been acquitted of all charges in the Arms case linked to his blackbuck poaching, by the Jodhpur court today. The actor was alleged in the killing of a blackbuck 18 years ago has been proven pleaded "not guilty" to charges of violating the law by keeping unlicensed weapons and using them. The court has given him the benefit of doubt releasing him of all the charges against him.

Salman Khan arrived at Jodhpur last evening, accompanied by sister Alvira Khan and his lawyers. The case dates back to the year 1998 when Salman Khan was accused of killing a deer while he and some of his other co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were shooting for a movie in Jodhpur.

The 'Sultan' actor has faced several charges over the years that involved in the killing of two chinkaras and two blackbucks on three hunts. He even spent a week in prison in the year 2007 before he was granted bail by the Jodhpur court.

Salman Khan's lawyer argued that they had no proof that the actor possessed firearms and other weaponry that could have been used for hunting and even Salman said that he was being framed. The other actors who have been involved in the blackbuck poaching case have been asked to appear in court on January 25 to file their statements.

The Rajasthan High Court already acquitted all the charges against him that were linked to the killing of two endangered chinkara deer. That verdict has been challenged by the state government before the Supreme Court.

Salman Khan was suspended of his five-year imprisonment sentence in a hit-and-run case, by the Bombay High Court.
