Shark Tank India Contestant Rakhi Pal Calls Ashneer Grover A Hero For Reuniting Her With Family
Ashneer Grover reunites Rakhi Pal, Shark Tank India's contestant from EventBeep, with her family who had disowned her. She called him a hero.
While some Shark Tank India contestants are often seen roasting BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover, there are others who cannot thank him enough for literally changing their lives with his guidance.
Remember Rakhi Pal, who would lie to her family about going to college to follow her dreams and work on her business idea? When she would go to her office, she would wake up early to complete household work like cooking, washing and cleaning. After two years, she finally told her family she was working on her business. This is when they disowned her.
Rakhi Pal comes from an orthodox family who wouldn't let her work. She came on Shark Tank India along with her co-founders of EventBeep, a student community startup that received investments from Ashneer Grover, Aman Gupta and Peyush Bansal on Shark Tank India.
Not just that, hearing her story, all contestants got emotional including Ashneer Grover, who invested Rs 10 lakh to buy a stake in Rakhi's shares, so that this money goes just to Rakhi. He then offered Rakhi the opportunity to buy back the shares at the same price.
If you had been wondering how her family reacted to this, "Rakhi Pal is back with her family", wrote Ashneer Grover as he shared a handwritten letter by her in which she called Grover a "hero."
"Dear Ashneer sir, your words have been worth more than any offer we could ever have¡ you are a hero and an inspiration to millions. You¡¯ve given me my family back and their trust in this vision... No amount of thank you is gonna be enough," she wrote.
Sharing the photos, Ashneer Grover wrote, "It¡¯s nice to meet up with the @eventbeepindia kids from @sharktank.india and see them ploughing through. Super happy that Rakhi Pal is back with her family ! #sharktankindia".
Anupam Mittal commented, "Inspiring."
Another fan wrote, "Seriously heartwarming to see them doing great and for Rakhi to finally get her family's support too."
A fan wrote, "Ashneer is truly like a coconut. Angry, harsh from outside but a really nice person from heart."
Another user said, "It is just because of you...all thanks to you."
"Without Ashneer sir show is incomplete," said another one.
Ashneer Grover recently admitted that most of the sharks/judges/investors were on Shark Tank India because they wanted some level of popularity. At the same time, he said that the makers didn't give them a salary or remuneration for every episode. "None of us went with the intention of making money," he said.
"We weren¡¯t paid anything for any episode; in fact, we worked like bonded labour for hours and hours," Grover said this, as he delivered a lecture at Lovely Professional University as quoted by The Indian Express.
