'Badass' Russo Brothers Hail Priyanka Chopra, Call Citadel An 'Answer To James Bond Films'
Priyanka Chopra's Citadel is an answer to James Bind films, says the Russo Brothers.
Global actress Priyanka Chopra has grabbed much attention for her project with the Russo Brothers.
The actress will be seen in Citadel, which is scheduled to release on April 28 on Prime Video.
Priyanka plays Nadia Sinh while Richard Madden plays Mason Kane, the elite agents who have their memories wiped as they narrowly escapes with their life in the much-anticipated series.
The action-packed spy thriller also stars Leslie Manville and Stanley Tucci.
Now, the Russo Brothers have said in a recent interview that Citadel is an answer to the James Bond movies and also praised Priyanka Chopra for her stunning performance in it.
During an interview with Total Film Magazine, when asked if Citadel was their answer to James Bond franchise, Joe Russo said, "It¡¯s an accurate way to talk about it, without question. I mean, we loved Bond growing up."
Further commenting on Priyanka Chopra's character in Citadel, Anthony Russo stated, "This is a genre that traditionally has a male lead. And so what was interesting to us was upending that. Priyanka is really gifted physically. She is a badass on camera and she kicks a lot of a** in the show. Without giving too much away, her character is driving a lot of the action for the better part of the series, and Richard¡¯s character is playing catch up. That was a really interesting and exciting idea for us."

Anthony Russo on the other hand said that they're immense fans of James Bond.
"But our job is to try to take what we love about these sorts of genres and films that have influenced us and figure out ways to push them into spaces and places that surprise us ¡ Our job as storytellers isn¡¯t to bring you another version of Bond. Our job as storytellers is to bring you a fresh experience that you are excited and surprised by. So hopefully we hit that mark. We¡¯ll see," Anthony was quoted as saying by the media outlet.
