¡®I Felt Bad¡¯, Bhumika Chawla Recalls When Kareena Kapoor Khan Replaced Her In Jab We Met

Bhumika Chawla¡¯s acting debut was a blockbuster. The actress entered Bollywood, starring opposite Salman Khan in the 2003 hit classic Tere Naam. But something which was not in her fate was a sky-high career in the Hindi film industry. Chawla starred in barely known films like Run, Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa, and Silsiilay among others.

Cinema veterans say that had she not been replaced in a few films, Bhumika would have shined brighter in Bollywood.

The actress talked about the same in a recent interview with Sidharth Kanan where Bhumika revealed that she was replaced in Jab We Met and Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. She shared, ¡°The only time I felt bad was when I signed Jab We Met and it didn't happen. Bobby (Deol) and I were supposed to star in it. Back then, it was called 'Train'. The production changed and Ashtavinayak took over.¡±

¡°Then Shahid (Kapoor) and I were cast, then Shahid and Ayesha (Takia), and then Shahid and Kareena (Kapoor Khan). That¡¯s how things happened but it¡¯s okay."

Bhumika further talked about Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi starrer Munna Bhai MBBS and added, "I had signed Munna Bhai MBBS but it didn¡¯t happen. Only Raju sir (director Rajkumar Hirani) can tell more about this. He told me the reason after 10-12 years when we met at a place. He said, 'Because of somebody¡¯s mistake you were removed from the film'. But it's okay. This also happens here."

Time and again Bhumika was also said to be under the influence of Salman Khan which the actress has refuted every time.

In this interview as well, Bhumika said, ¡°I was not influenced by him. He (Salman) is a good person, and I have done three films with him.¡± She also shared what sort of a person inspires her and added, ¡°That person should know a lot, I should be able to learn a lot from him, and I should feel like I want to be like him.¡±

Revealing why she was never that friendly with Salman, Bhumika said, ¡°I was more quiet and in my zone. I attended one party which he had invited me to in Hyderabad and there too I left at 10:30 or 11 pm.¡± Interestingly, Bhumika most recently starred in Salman Khan's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan only.
