The Marathi term Chhaava means Lion Cub and describes Sambhaji's valiant and aggressive personality.

Who all star in the film?
Vicky Kaushal plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays his wife, Maharani Yesubai. Ashutosh Rana takes on the role of the fierce Maratha warrior Hambirrao Mohite, and Akshaye Khanna plays the fascinating Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Diana Penty appears as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Aurangzeb's daughter. Divya Dutta plays Soyarabai Bhosale in the ensemble cast, while Vineet Kumar, Santosh Juvekar, Neil Bhoopalam, and Pradeep Rawat play important supporting roles.

According to Sacnilk, on Day 54 (the eighth Tuesday), the film brought in Rs 0.35 crore. Chhaava has brought in a total of Rs 599.15 crore. The film starring Vicky Kaushal was produced with a budget of Rs 130 crore. In its first week of release, the movie went over budget.
