Sonu Nigan's angry rant against azaan has drawn him a lot of flak. From celebrities to people on social media, everyone outraged and bashed Sonu Nigam for his offensive tweets. His comparison of Azaan to forced religiousness didn't go down too well with a lot of people.
God bless everyone. I'm not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India

The reactions to these tweets were extreme. Pooja Bhatt too sly tweeted against Sonu Nigam. She wrote,
I wake each morning to the sound of church bells & the Azaan in a quiet by-lane of Bandra.I light an aggarbatti & salute the spirit of India

On Tuesday, Shiv Sena extended their support to Sonu Nigam. Even though they evaded the topic of 'Azaan' but they agreed with the noise pollution part of it.
Talking to ANI, Shiv Sena MP Manisha Kayande said,
"Whoever has tweeted is not important but talking on noise pollution and its effects on people is an important matter to be looked into. With the pollution increasing every day, noise pollution is like slow poisoning which should be looked into and stopped."
Kayande also added how there should be a complete ban on noise in the city from 10 pm to 6 am and the court should give strict orders on the same.
