In an interview with the Dailythandi newspaper, Dhanush¡¯s father, Kasthuri Raja, said the couple had a disagreement and termed it a family quarrel.

Salvaging the situation, Dhanush's father added that it's a basic rift that usually happens between married couples. Kasthurji Raja said that since the couple had not been in Chennai, he had given them a piece of advice on the phone.

Actor Dhanush and his filmmaker wife Aishwaryaa got married in 2004 and issued a joint statement announcing their divorce. In their statement, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa urged the fans to respect their decision and sought privacy to deal with their decision.
