Diljit Dosanjh accused of not paying dancers for Dil-Luminati tour; choreographer lashes out
LA-based choreographer Rajat Rocky Batta has lashed out at Diljit Dosanjh alleging that the dancers who performed at his Dil-Luminati tour were not paid.
After getting slammed for the video with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau amid India-Canada tensions, Diljit Dosanjh has found himself in hot soup again. The singer-actor has been accused of not paying dancers who performed at his Dil-Luminati tour. Following this, their choreographer lashed out at him in an angry post. Here's what happened!

In a note written on Instagram, choreographer Rajat Rocky Batta revealed that the desi dancers weren't paid for their performances. "While we as a Desi Dance Community are really proud of a Desi Artist breaking glass ceilings and doing sold out tours across North America... I still feel deeply disappointed that Desi Dancers are still undervalued as an industry. All of the Desi Dancers in Diljit's Diluminati Tour were not paid, and just expected to perform for free," he wrote.
The Los Angeles-based choreographer who is also the owner of RRB Dance Company added, "Desi Dance as an industry has become a lifeblood for artists and do a significant part in the entire ecosystem of the industry... while its choreography, stage performances, music videos, reels, to even promoting songs... It's an essential part of the production and it's really disappointing to see an artist of this caliber cut corners by stepping on the throats of Desi Dancer industry and continue to attribute to that culture. Diljit, we are very happy for your success, but your dancers should have been paid and been a part of the production budget."
The dancers have also reacted
Soon after the post went viral, the dancers also shared a long note in which they wrote that they stand united and "do not wish to be represented by the voices who don¡¯t understand our relationship, our motivations, sacrifices, and the immense value we place on such experiences."
Diljit Dosanjh, who recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and is known for his hit songs and charismatic stage presence, has been captivating audiences worldwide with his Dil-Luminati tour. The tour recently made headlines when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a surprise appearance on stage alongside Diljit Dosanjh at the Rogers Centre. With that, Diljit is also winning praises for his recently released movie Jatt and Juliet 3, which also stars Neeru Bajwa.
