Esha Deol Regrets Turning Down Hit Films Like Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara & Rohit Shetty's Golmaal
Esha expressed regret about how she declined roles in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara and Rohit Shetty's Golmaal.
Esha Deol, who recently marked the recognition of her short film "Ek Duaa" at the 69th National Awards in the Non-Feature Films category, has candidly discussed certain career choices that she wishes she hadn't made. With a career spanning over two decades and notable roles in movies like Dhoom, LOC Kargil, and No Entry, the actress revealed in an interview that she harbors regrets about declining roles in two iconic Bollywood films.
During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Esha expressed regret about how she declined roles in Vishal Bhardwaj's Omkara and Rohit Shetty's Golmaal.
¡°I regret passing on Golmaal. If I name all the films that I passed on, people would want to throw a slipper at me. But honestly speaking the people who went on to do those films and those characters have done a fantastic job. I even rejected Omkara. I was asked for the role that Bipasha Basu ended up playing, but she was absolutely¡ she justified that role. I am glad she did it, she was so good," said the actor.
Both Omkara and Golmaal were blockbuster hits at the box office.
Earlier, an old interview of Hema Malini along with Esha and her sister Ahana had gone viral on social media. The old clip from Simi Garewal's talk show Renedvous with Simi Garewal showed Esha claiming that Dharmendra is a very consultative father.
"We are not allowed to go out that often. Mama¡¯s there so we manage to go out for sports. We had to go for state level outside Bombay, he said no, I didn¡¯t go. He doesn¡¯t like us wearing sleeveless tops and short pants. Whenever he comes home, we wear trousers or salwar kameez", she had said back then.
Dharmendra married Hema Malini in 1980, making it his second marriage. He was already married to Prakash Kaur since 1954 and shared four children with her - Sunny, Bobby, Ajieta and Vijeta.
