'A child should not be punished..¡¯: Esha Verma reacts to Rupali Ganguly¡¯s Rs 50 crore defamation suit
Actress Rupali Ganguly filed a Rs 50 crore defamation suit against her stepdaughter Esha Verma a few days ago. Days after, Esha has taken to her Instagram and shared her reaction to the suit and has called it 'cruel.'
In the midst of the ongoing feud, Esha Verma, the actor Rupali Ganguly's stepdaughter, has clarified her remarks and videos from the past several weeks. In a lengthy note she also responded to Rupali's defamation lawsuit against her, calling it "cruel." It was "disturbing, cruel, and displayed their true character," according to Esha. She also slammed Aswhin Verma, her father.

In a lengthy statement, Esha Verma addressed the accusations, provided clarification on some points, and even thanked everyone for their love and support. Esha explained that it soon became a public scene after she revealed details of her private life with her father, Ashwin Verma.
Esha also responded to claims that she had drawn Rudransh, the son of Rupali and Ashwin, into the dispute.
A part of her statement read, "To address one important point: a child should not be punished for speaking their truth. Despite being a young adult, I am still my father's child. Their response to my statement was disturbing, cruel, and displayed their true character. I was not just a random individual speaking out but someone who was directly affected as a member of their family.¡±

She disclosed that she did not want to embarrass the situation further and that the statement was intended to clear up any misunderstandings. Hence, she does not wish to take this matter any further with statements.
For the unversed, Rupali and Ashwin sent Esha a Rs 50 crore defamation notice after she criticised them in a lengthy Instagram video. Esha deleted the video after the notice was sent to her.
