Often people wait outside Amitabh Bachchan's residence to get a glimpse of the actor. There was a time when BigB mania was at its peak. It was in the 1970s when fans used to write him love letters from all across the world.

Some even visited Mumbai to catch a glimpse of the then-superstar. But Amitabh Bachchan was shocked when he learned that a die-hard fan of his kept mumbling his name even when she was in a coma.

According to a report in Indian Express, during a 1980 interview with India Today, the shocking incident was discussed with Amitabh Bachchan. If reports are to be believed, a fan of megastar BigB was admitted to Mumbai¡¯s Nanavati Hospital and while she was unconscious, she kept mumbling 'Anthony.'

Well, for the unversed, Anthony is the character played by Amitabh Bachchan in Manmohan Desai¡¯s film 'Amar Akbar Anthony.' Reports suggest that the girl went into a coma after she had a severe fall.

However, even after she slowly regained consciousness, the girl kept mumbling his name. The doctor eventually realized that his patient was remembering Amitabh Bachchan all this time, as she refused to eat until the onscreen 'Don' himself fed her. Later the doctor had to contact BigB.

Moreover, the incident shocked Amitabh Bachchan as the star had not expected that his films would have this kind of effect on the audience.

¡°That incident really shook me,¡± BigB said during the interview with the media outlet while discussing the rare incident.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Amitabh Bachchan's 80th birthday, fellow actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha expressed his adulation and love for the 'Brahmastra' actor.

"Amitabh Bachchan is not only my contemporary actor and friend but also a National Icon. He has emerged as a personality in totality. There¡¯s hardly anyone else in the country like him, who has received popularity, love, and respect too," Shatrughan Sinha said as per TOI.
