The actor, who became a sensation after his performance as Maddy in the romantic drama 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' continues to possess the zeal of a novice, despite his extensive three-decade-long successful journey in the film industry.
During an interview recently, R Madhavan candidly spoke about how his son¡¯s achievement holds greater significance for him than his own career. He also said that rather than resting on his laurels, Madhavan aspires to accomplish much more.
For those unversed, actor R Madhavan¡®s son Vedaant is a national-level swimmer and is prepping for the Olympics.
While chatting with ETimes, Madhavan said that his son is God¡¯s ¡®best blessing¡¯ to him and his wife Sarita Birje.
¡°Every day we thank the Lord that he is in our life. The glory he brings to the country means more to me than anything that I¡¯ve done in my own career,¡± Madhavan told the portal.
A month ago, Madhavan's son Vedaant represented India in the 58th MILO/MAS Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships, where he won five gold medals.
Sharing the good news and pictures from the event, R Madhavan wrote, "With Gods grace and all your good wishes Vedaant gets 5 golds for India ( 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m and 1500m) with 2 PB¡¯s at the Malaysian invitational age group championships, 2023 held this weekend in Kuala Lumpur. Elated and very grateful. Thank you #Pradeep sir @media.iccsai @ansadxb.¡±
Moreover, R Madhavan moved to Dubai to support his son's aspirations. During a previous interview, the actor mentioned that the family shifted to Dubai so that Vedaant can have access to bigger pools.
¡°The larger swimming pools in Mumbai are either closed because of Covid or out of bounds. We are here with Vedaant in Dubai where he has access to large pools. He¡¯s working towards the Olympics, and Sarita (his wife) and I are right by his side,¡± Madhavan was quoted as saying to Bollywood Hungama.
