After seeing the mega success of Avengers:Endgame, Marvel Studios has changed their game plan for their upcoming releases. Disney has now announced 8 new untitled movies through 2022. It has announced a new trio of untitled "Star Wars" entries.
Due to change in future slate of films, Avatar series has been further pushed. According to Variety, "Avatar 2" will now hit theatres on December 17, 2021 instead of December 18, 2020 as originally scheduled.
This simultaneously delays three sequels -- "Avatar 3" is now slated to be released on December 22, 2023 instead of December 17, 2021; "Avatar 4" will debut on December 19, 2025 as opposed to December 20, 2024 and "Avatar 5" will open on December 17, 2027.
As for the new "Star Wars" series, they will hit theatres after the upcoming "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" brings the Skywalker spin-off saga to a close in December.
As per reports, Black Widow, Black Panther, The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Captain Marvel 2, Doctor Strange 2 and Young Avengers could possibly be some of the films that Disney could be looking forward to film.
Cine goers will have new films from "Avatar" and "Star Wars" universes every year between 2021 and 2027. Are you excited?
