Guddi Maruti talks about 'Chalu' heroes of the 90s, says 'Akshay Kumar had many girlfriends'
Guddi Maruti reveals insights into the 'chalu' heroes of the 90s Bollywood, sharing stories about Govinda's dedication and Akshay Kumar's many girlfriends. In a candid interview, the actress also reminisced about Divya Bharti's death.
Indian actress best known for her comedy roles on TV and in Bollywood movies, Guddi Maruti mostly played side characters yet she was able to cast a deep impact on the audiences who remember her even after decades. The daughter of director Marutirao Parab who often cracked jokes about her weight and has been seen in movies like Dashera, Tatar Ka Chor, Garma Garam, Darbar, Shola Aur Shabnam, Chamatkar, Balwaan and Dulhe Raja among others recently opened up about the "Chalu" heroes of the 90s except Govinda. She revealed Akshay Kumar had many girlfriends back then.

In an interview with YouTuber Siddharth Kanan, she said, "All the heroes were Chalu but not Govinda."' She added that Govinda was always busy with work. "We would say, 'Chi Chi, even if a girl walks in front of you in a bikini, you wouldn¡¯t notice her. You would only notice her smile and nothing else.' He was genuinely like that".
Akshay Kumar was flirtatious
Furthermore, she recalled working with Akshay in Khiladi and said, "Kaafi girlfriends thi uski (He had many girlfriends). I know of his two or three lovely girlfriends, but I can¡¯t say how many more he dated. On set, he was always very nice to work with." She also clarified that Akki might not have date many girls simultaneously. "He would act so naive, but later we heard so many stories about him."
In the same interview, Guddi also rubbished rumours about Divya Bharti's murder and allegations against her husband Sajid Nadiadwala. She revealed, "She died on the night of April 5 and April 4 is my birthday. So, we all were partying together - Govinda, Divya, Sajid and others. She was okay at the party but I felt she was a little sad. She had to go for an outdoor shoot but she didn¡¯t want to."
For the unversed, Divya had died in 1993 after falling off her apartment at the age of 19.
