HanuMan director Prasanth Varma recently revealed he wasted a lot of time to cast stars like Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Jr NTR but now he has set deadlines that even Tom Cruise can't break.
What makes a film great? The director, the actor, or the story? People might have different answers for this, but for HanuMan director Prasanth Varma having a bigger star in his film isn't that important.
HanuMan Director Wasted Time Waiting For Stars Like Ram Charan
He recently revealed that he has wasted a lot of time in the past waiting for big stars, and now he won't do that. Now, he sets deadlines and not even Hollywood actor Tom Cruise could change that.
"I'm not against working with stars. But it often takes time. I spent a lot of it waiting for a few stars. It wasn't productive. So, I've decided to set deadlines. Even if Tom Cruise comes after my deadline, I'll move forward with who I have. I'm here to tell stories, not just wait for star power," he told RJ Siddharth Kanan in an interview.
He added that he has approached many stars like Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Jr NTR, but it is difficult to get them on board because of their tight schedules. "Many don't say 'no' directly, but the message is usually clear. Initially, I was confused when someone praised my story and then disappeared. Now, I understand the pressures they face."
Headlined by Teja Sajja, his movie HanuMan has become a runaway hit, amassing over Rs 200 crore at the global box office.
Talking about the box office success, PRasth Varma told PTI, "I didn¡¯t realise that it was all happening. It took me two-three days for all this to sink in because never in my life have I experienced so much success in terms of love from the audience."
The 34-year-old filmmaker added, "All my previous films were loved by the audience, but we never made a lot of money. I was that filmmaker who makes good cinema but doesn¡¯t make a lot of money for the producers. But I think for the first time in my career, it has happened in such a way¡ I think it is easily 10 times more than any of my previous films,¡± he added.
On the occasion of Ram Mandir's Pran Pratishtha ceremony, the makers announced a sequel of the movie titled Jai Hanuman. Here's all you need to know about Hanuman's OTT release.
