Here's Why Sonu Sood's Home & Offices Were Raided By I-T Department & The Politics Behind It
While reports claim that raids were conducted at Sonu Sood's house and other premises because of a land deal and tax evasion on it, Aam Aadmi Party has slammed BJP for it. Here's the politics behind it.
The raids at Sonu Sood's Mumbai house and five other premises including his offices lasted for several hours reportedly. The survey ended late at night.
But why Sonu Sood, who is hailed as the messiah of migrant workers, came under the scanner, everyone is wondering.

As per several reports on NDTV as well as DNA, his properties were searched because of a deal between a firm owned by the actor and a Lucknow-based real estate company following a tax evasion complaint.
Not the first time, Sonu Sood's house has been raided. The same happened in 2012 as well, again over alleged tax evasion.

Wasn't a raid conducted in 2012 on him ...I guess #Bjp was there at that time too & Modi was the Prime Minister too...If someone is not wrong then what's the fear ..let the investigation happen!!!
The fact that the raids were conducted days after Sood's meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal where he was declared as the ambassador for his government's mentorship programme for school students in Delhi, has set several tongues wagging.

As per AAP, the raids are a result of Sonu Sood's meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

BJP, meanwhile, has rubbished these allegations.
"There is no relation to that (the Kejriwal meeting). Any personality can meet anyone. It is just a search, not a raid. It's on a tipoff. It's not necessary that the person who heads the charity has done anything wrong... It must be something at the lower level. Income Tax is an independent department, which has its own protocol. It is doing its job," Asif Bhamla, BJP spokesman, said.
Sonu Sood has maintained that he has no plans of joining politics anytime soon.
