'I Just Have To Recalibrate', Hrithik Roshan Shares How Failure Of Vikram Vedha Affected Him

Bollywood's "Greek God" Hrithik Roshan is all set to be seen next in Siddharth Anand upcoming directorial 'Fighter', which stars Deepika Padukone as the leading lady.

The film will mark 'Pathaan' actress Deepika Padukone and Vikram Vedha actor Hrithik Roshan's first onscreen collaboration. While Hrithik is busy gearing up for his upcoming film, the actor has shared talked about the failure of his last movie Vikram Vedha and how it has affected him.

During an interview with Galatta Plus, Hrithik stated, "Vikram Vedha released, and it didn't fare well at the box office at all. And the feedback that I got was¡­ Of course, there are different parts of me that are conflicted about what I should learn from this, and I think it'll dawn on me much later, but right now I know that it is not, maybe, something that people like to see me do."

He further expresed that maybe he's not allowed to do roles where he's not catering to his fans who wish to see him in a certain film, with a certain backdrop. But, if he chooses to do such films, then he has to treat them differently in terms of both acting and budget.

Speaking about the box office failure of the remake of the 2017 Tamil movie Vikram Vedha starring Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan, Hrithik said that now he will think twice before taking up a role.

"I say this now, that I will think twice before doing a role which does not cater to the fans, but of course, when I hear a story, the actor in me takes precedence, and I always say yes if I can't say no. But there is a part of me that is aware, that maybe the way to go is films like War and Fighter, and try to find the artist in me within these spaces," the 'Bang Bang' actor said as he spoke of how the box office dud changed his creative and career choices.

"I'm also hopeful that this might not be the reason, that this was not a film that was meant for a Rs 300 crore box office. I just have to recalibrate," Hrithik was further quoted as saying by the media outlet.

Other than Hrithik Roshan, Vikram Vedha stars Saif Ali Khan in a leading role as a police officer and Radhika Apte among others.

On the work front, Hrithik is also rumoured to be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's controversial movie 'Pathaan' in a cameo role apart from making a special appearance in Salman Khan's Tiger 3. Both Pathaan and Tiger 3 will release in 2023.
