Irrfan Forever! Nimrat Kaur Writes A Serendipitous Note On A Mural & Its Lunchbox Connect!
Remembering Irrfan once again, his co-star from 'The Lunchbox' Nimrat Kaur wrote a serendipitous note on how she spotted a mural of Irrfan.
The void that Irrfan Khan has left behind will always feel heavy. Be it for his co-stars or people who he has inspired, for everyone his absence is like a bitter truth that they never want to gulp down. His co-actors can't stop raving about him and their destiny that at least once in their lifetime, their paths intersected with Irrfan's & they got an opportunity to work with him.
Remembering Irrfan once again, his co-star from 'The Lunchbox' Nimrat Kaur wrote a serendipitous note on how she spotted a mural of Irrfan.
Mumbai-based artist Ranjit Dahiya had paid his tribute to Irrfan Khan by making a huge mural of him. The actor's wall mural was painted by the artist in the bylanes of Waroda Road, Bandra, as a tribute to his "favorite actor."
Speaking to ANI, the artist mentioned that the news of the seasoned actor's demise initiated him to do the wall painting. "When I came to know the sad demise of my favorite actor Irrfan khan, I wanted to give tribute to him," said Dahiya.
The wall painting, mixed in black, yellow, and white color, sees a close-up shot of the late 'Lunchbox' actor, where Dahiya said he focused more on his "eyes which were loved by his fans."
"It took me three days to complete this wall painting. I am still working on it. It's a small tribute to my favorite actor Irrfan Khan," added Dhaiya.
After spotting the mural, Nimrat Kaur pointed out a beautiful coincidence. She wrote:
"Chanced upon this arresting mural in Ranwar Village on an errand run today. Incidentally only a few houses down the one where Saajan Fernandes¡¯s house was located in The Lunchbox. Such an ominous yet celebratory confluence of life and art.
My heartfelt compliments to the artist @bollywoodartproject and a million thoughts and loving prayers for this immortal soul. All that came to the mind was, who knew...#IrrfanForever.."
Actress Nimrat Kaur worked with Irrfan Khan in the much-feted film The Lunchbox that went on winning several awards and accolades internationally. The news of his sudden demise came as shock to her.
"It is a personal loss for everyone at this point in time. For everyone who watched his movies or worked with him and met him personally, this is absolutely shocking. I think the face of Indian cinema will not be the same without Irrfan Khan. He was a one-man army. Every film and film stars are on one side and his films are on the other. My heart goes out to his family at this point in time when we all are suffering under a specific situation. Losing a loved one is always painful but I think this (the COVID-19 lockdown) is worse. I cannot imagine I am talking about Irrfan in the past tense," Nimrat told IANS.
The film screened in several prestigious international festivals and notably won the Critics Week Viewers Choice Award at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.
Sharing her memory of working with Irrfan in the film Nimrat said,
"We did not have many scenes together but we got a chance to converse extensively during the premiere of the film at the Cannes Film Festival. I was quite overwhelmed by the response to the film, the way it was celebrated, and what it became overnight! I remember I asked him, ''how do you handle so much appreciation, adulation when a film meets a great success like this?'' he smiled and told me, ''sock up to good times and don't be shy of celebration. This is the gift that God has given us. The bad time is around the corner.''
"This moment does not come very often in life. So take it as a gift after all the struggle we have gone through.'' He always said to embrace the good time because that''s when we celebrate life," recalled Nimrat.
