Is BJP Desperate To Get Bollywood Speak For Them? It's Arranging More Interactions With Celebs On CAA
BJP is planning on more such interactions with Bollywood stars on CAA. The last meeting which took place on Jan 5 was attended by only a few celebrities. Most of the A-listers gave the meeting a miss.
Was Bhushan Kumar at the meeting arranged by the government -- a luxury dinner at Grand Hyatt in Mumbai -- to discuss Citizenship Amendment Act? While he denied he wasn't there, BJP's Tarun Rathi on Twitter thanked him and several others who attended the meeting.
Bhushan Kumar, on the other hand, said that he was at the same hotel but he didn't attend the meeting. But filmmaker Rahul Rawail, who was at the meeting, told NDTV, "Bhushan Kumar was very much a part of the CAA meeting at Grand Hyatt. I was also present to understand what CAA is."

While the confusion on it is still on, BJP is planning on more such interactions with Bollywood stars on CAA.
The meetings, they said, were arranged to spread awareness on CAA and discuss the "myths and realities" about the new amendment to the Citizenship Law that has stirred the entire nation with violence. And now, they want to arrange more such meetings.
"More such meetings with a cross section of society, not just the film industry, will be conducted on the issue," a source was quoted as saying by PTI.
The BJP has launched a series of outreach programmes, including meetings with different groups and door-to-door campaign, to mobilise support for the CAA. The objective of the campaign is to counter the Opposition's drive against the law and inform people about its features amid countrywide protests, reads the report.
The last meeting, which took place on Jan 5, was attended by only a few celebrities.
Most of the A-listers gave the meeting a miss. Bhushan Kumar, Prasoon Joshi, Anu Malik, Kailash Kher, Shaan, Kunal Kohli, Ranvir Shorey, Ritesh Sidhwani, Rajkumar Santoshi, Suresh Wadekar and Neeraj Shridhar were among those present in the meeting.
Other Bollywood biggies including Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Kabir Khan, Rajkumar Santoshi, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Dia Mirza, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao and Vicky Kaushal skipped the event on Sunday night.
