'It's Humanity': BJP Supports Minister For Helping Mallika Dua After Right-Wing Outrage

Hardeep Singh Puri, the Union minister for civil aviation and housing and urban affairs has attracted the fury of right-wing individuals and organizations for arranging a tocilizumab injection for comedian Mallika Dua's mother who is battling COVID-19 and is in a Gurugram hospital's ICU.

The reason for this outrage against the cabinet minister? Because he chose to help Mallika Dua and her father Vinod Dua who are prominent critics of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and the current government in power.

Several right-wing supporters were astonished at the Union Minister choosing to help out a celebrity critical of their government instead of citizens who actually support and vote for them.

A Twitter user named Madhur, with one lakh followers, said the problem occurs when ministers in power ignore the common citizens and ¡°rush to help privileged elite people like Mallika for their validation¡±. Another user Ankit Jain, who mentions ¡°BJP supporter¡± in his Twitter bio, said it was ¡°better to be a Mallika Dua than to be a BJP supporter¡±.

I have no problem with any top minister of BJP helping Mallika Dua who abuses BJP 24*7.

The problem occurs when these ministers in Power ignore the common citizens of our country and rush to help privileged elite people like Mallika for their validation.

This is the difference.

However, Union Hardeep Singh Puri's party, BJP has come to his defense and called it an act of 'humanity.

¡°We also help those whose views are different. Helping during the current Covid crisis is humanity, and cabinet ministers can¡¯t be targeted for such an effort. I have also donated 20 concentrators to a gurdwara. I have not asked about their religion and ideology. This is the time to help,¡± BJP Spokesperson R.P Singh said.
